
As we age, do you or the elders in your family feel unsteady, experience declining physical strength, or worry about the risk of falling?
This course is designed by professional physiotherapists and is tailored for middle-aged and elderly individuals, those with reduced physical fitness, weak balance, or anyone looking to prevent physical degeneration. Before the course begins, we conduct a baseline assessment (posture, muscle strength, balance, and vital signs) to determine the appropriate training direction and intensity for the group.
How the Course Works:
- Small Group Format: Classes are conducted in groups of 1–6 people (similar to a tutorial class). Each session lasts approximately 60 minutes and is led by a physiotherapist. This is a group teaching model, not a one-on-one customized session.
- Circuit-Based Training: Classes utilize a circuit training method, featuring multiple training stations. Participants rotate through different exercises in sequence. Depending on the therapist’s plan, group exercises led by the therapist may also be included.
- Flexible & Safe: A single session typically includes movements of varying intensities and types, allowing participants to join within their comfort levels. If you feel tired or find a movement difficult, you can rest selectively or perform a simplified version of the exercise to ensure safety and continuous participation.
Each Session Generally Includes:
- Warm-up and joint mobility exercises
- Cardiovascular endurance training (low to moderate intensity aerobics)
- Strength training (focusing on upper and lower limbs)
- Balance and coordination training (to reduce the risk of falling)
- Functional training (e.g., sit-to-stand, walking, climbing stairs)
- Electrotherapy or heat pack relaxation
Course Goals:
To help improve muscle strength and joint flexibility, enhance balance and walking ability, delay degeneration, and reduce the risk of falling while boosting daily independence and self-confidence.
