👉 Yes, but with conditions!

🟢 Jogging, hiking: Most people can return after proper rehab (lower risk)
🟡 Badminton: High-intensity pivoting sport → requires more complete recovery before returning
🔴 If the knee is still unstable or rehab is incomplete, DO NOT rush back into sports

✔️ Key conditions (must pass physiotherapy assessment):
• No pain, no swelling
• Strength restored (especially quadriceps & hamstrings)
• Good knee stability and control
• Able to pass functional tests (e.g. jumping, cutting)
👉 Typically around 6–9 months before returning to peak sports level

🔍 What is an ACL tear?
The ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) is a key ligament in the knee that provides stability, preventing the shin bone from sliding forward and controlling rotation.
An ACL tear occurs when this ligament is overstretched or torn.

💢 Common symptoms
• “Pop” sound at the time of injury
• Knee pain and rapid swelling
• Feeling of instability (“giving way”)
• Difficulty walking or continuing activity

❗ Possible consequences if untreated
• Chronic knee instability
• Higher risk of meniscus injury
• Early joint degeneration (osteoarthritis)
• Reduced sports performance

⏳ Recovery timeline
• Conservative (physiotherapy): ~3–6 months
• Surgery (ACL reconstruction): ~6–9 months or longer
👉 Depends on individual progress
