The spinal canal is a passage located within the vertebrae. It runs through the spine and contains the spinal cord and nerve roots. Its main function is to protect and support the spinal cord and surrounding nerves.
Spinal stenosis refers to the narrowing of this canal, which causes compression or restriction of the spinal cord and nerves.
It commonly leads to #pain, #numbness, #muscleweakness, #tightness, and #limitedmobility.
This active and cheerful lady developed multiple conditions over time, including:
1. Moderate #kneeosteoarthritis
2. Multilevel spinal stenosis
3. scoliosis
After an accidental fall, she experienced severe lower back pain and sought medical attention. Following an MRI scan, she was advised to undergo physiotherapy.
After further assessment by our therapist, she was also found to have an acute lumbar fracture. Traction therapy and rotational movements were temporarily avoided, and a personalized treatment plan was provided, including:
✅ Manual Therapy 👋 – Professional and safe techniques for #myofascialrelease and #jointmobilization
✅ Exercise Therapy 🏃♀️ – Customized exercises to strengthen muscles and improve balance for long-term recovery
✅ Modalities 🔋 – #highenergylaser, #electrotherapy, and #heattherapy for pain management and faster recovery

She is now free from pain and continues with strengthening and balance training to:
🔹 Address the root cause
🔹 Reduce the risk of #falls
🔹 Prevent #complications
The core goal of physiotherapy is to shorten recovery time and prevent recurrence. After pain management, exercise becomes the most important factor.
🌟 At this stage, patients need to actively follow their therapist’s home exercise program and advice to fully recover and stay pain-free!
